9/18/2023 0 Comments Idrive review pcmagI had send some files which I was not able to because the app did not work, but it is working now I tried a lot of different things (not mentioned by the customerservice) and it seems to be working now. It will properbly take me a year to restore my harddisk! I have had contact with your customerservice, but it did not help me solve the problem. It will take forever and download those files My best advice stay away from Idrive. When I send a reminder they ask me to do the same action again. They answer quick and want me take action and when I do nothing happens for months. So they have properbly given up but I am still having a problem. They have been trying for over 1 year with no result even with different pc’s and still not working. Over the last year I have different problem for instance it is impossible to get the pc app to work to make a decent automatic backup. A file for 3.29 GB has now taken more than 8 hours and is still not restored. All files below 2GB I can restore manual in a fair speed. I have had Idrive for several years and now my harddisk crashed so I need to restore all my files. You'll get overcharged in the long run without any way of stopping it! STAY AWAY from this! Don't get sucked into it like me, thinking that you have a good deal for backup. I immediately cancelled everything and wiped the software from my computer. I even had to send them a screenshot of it because they wouldn't believe me!! The worst way for customer support to react and made me mistrust them even more. Sorry to tell you, but iDRIVE IS A SCAM!! When I contacted support over their chat today, they initially even denied that I sent anything and acted as if they didn't know anything, even denying my chat question from a few minutes before. So last week I cancelled ALL my drives to be backed up to see if the data amount would go down, but today the drives MAGICALLY re-appeared in the iDrive app, adding even MORE data to be overcharged. It felt like I was stuck in a money grabbing scheme with no permission to get out. There was no way of getting it down to the real amount, with no answer from support. No answer at all! In the meantime the data kept on adding up!! The folders on my computer were barely 3,5 TB, but on the iDrive app said it was way over 5 TB. Suddenly I got messages that my data exceeded the 5 TB and they would charge me about $50 extra per month! I immediately contacted their support through email without any avail. I had a 5 TB account and only 3,5 TB to backup. They trick you into a cheap deal, only to overcharge you later for data they themselves keep adding up WITHOUT your consent.
